A software to interpret babies crying

Ever experienced that feeling of deep frustration when listening to your baby crying and not knowing what he/she is complaining about? Hunger, discomfort or what else could it be… :) Japanese scientists from Muroran Institute of Technology come to help desperate parents with a brand new software designed to translate a baby’s crying into a range of different feelings and emotions The analysis is performed through a sound pattern recognition approach that uses a statistical analysis of the frequency of cries and the power function of the audio spectrum, in order to classify different types of crying. Then the different audio spectra were correlated with a baby’s emotional state, confirmed by the child’s parents. Looks brilliant, huh?

Anyway, always remember to have your kids rest their eyes and take a little off-line break from time to time! What do you advice as for pauses from PC activities?
