Is there anything more appropriate than a virtual trip to the moon to celebrate the 40th anniversary of moon-landing?
On 20th of July Google has officially launched “Moon in Google Earth” that will enable users to explore the moon directly from their desktops through an interactive, 3-d map of the lunar surface.
The software includes extra-detailed information on all of the Apollo landing sites as well as videos of the Apollo astronauts offering guided tours.
Users may also view spacecrafts and lunar models, and learn about the various objects ( the so-called “human artifacts”) left on the moon by the Soviet Union, China, Japan, India and the European Union.
The software, which was developed in partnership with NASA, is a dream come true for young explorers around the world.
